Bring me sunshine, bring me rain

I constantly read moans about the weather; in particular, the amount of rainfall we are having this April. Though this is excellent news for the Yorkshire area - which is experiencing a drought period according to the national news a couple of weeks ago - the sun seekers of our country are not so pleased.

“Nice weather for ducks!” I have often seen commented online this past week and today, for those of us who are in South Wales, that statement is quite apt with the blustering downpour and fences being blown apart by the high winds and even the appearance of sleet.

We are never happy with the weather; when it is too cold, we want warmth. When it is the height of summer, we dream of snow and raid local supermarkets for fans to cool the temperature. Today I am dreaming of sunny beaches and tequila cocktails, but I won’t complain, as when the temperature rises, I am first in the queue at the supermarket to purchase one of those aforementioned cooling fans.

Whilst the rain pours around me and I pile on the sweaters, thinking about hot chocolate and open coal fires, I am somewhat amused and slightly dismayed that only 150 miles north of me, the sun shines brightly and there are no sign of coats being worn. Is it only in Britain that there is such a plethora of microclimates? I would put money on there being somewhere that it will be snowing (okay, maybe sleet), cold, raining, windy, warm and sunny, all in the same country.

Luckily for parents in the UK, there are baby sleeping bags from The Dream Bag, available for every temperature in 4 Tog warmth ratings. 0.5 Tog for peak summer temperatures; 1.0 Tog for spring and midday naps; 2.5 Tog for autumn, winter and spring and 3.5 Tog for when the weather becomes bitterly cold. Visit www.thedreambag.co.uk for more information on the right tog to use for your baby.

Can I get this in a bigger size?

We have been asked so many times if we can produce our baby sleeping bags in larger sizes, for children who have grown up sleeping in them since birth or very young, and have gotten used to the security of sleeping in a bag. We are very pleased that we have been able to expand our range to include the new three to six year old size sleeping bag, which is already very popular, going by comments from parents and indeed, sales.

This winter, we have developed several of our designs to accommodate a full length zip down the front of the bag, as the side zip to enable nappy changes is no longer needed. We hope to have now provided a good range of designs suitable for boys and girls, along with a few neutral designs and are looking to expand this, as we approach the arrival of more summer weight 0.5 tog sleeping bags to our store.

We have also adapted our velour long sleeve travel sleeping bag designs for the bigger size. These are available in the very versatile all-year-round (except peak summer) 2.5 tog rating and also in the warmer 3.5 tog rating for colder temperatures.

We are very keen on listening to our customers and we have provided these products because we have been asked for them. If you have anything that you would like us to consider to manufacture, just let us know!
